Last night the 2012 Grammy Awards took place in Hollywood and the Grammy winners were not surprising at all. As almost everyone with a pair of ears predicted, Britsh soul sensation Adele cleaned up nicely, winning all of the major awards including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop Solo Vocal Performance, among others. Foo Fighters were the night’s other big winners, taking home the major rock awards. Bon Iver surprised everyone by winning Best New Artist, an award that most assumed would go to Nicki Minaj.
Adele gave an absolutely adorable acceptance speech for her Album of the Year win, joking, “I just first of all wanna say, ‘Mum, girl did good!’” She was crying earnestly and exclaimed, “Oh, I got a bit of snot.”
