Since the death of former Apple CEO and visionary genius Steve Jobs rumors have been flying that a Steve Jobs biopic was in the works. Now it seems that this film is real and there may already be a writer for it: The Social Network writer Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin has been approached to write the film. An Aaron Sorkin Steve Jobs movie sounds like it would be great, right?
Now Sorkin has revealed he’s considering taking on the film after he was approached by bosses at Sony, who have bought the rights to Walter Isaacson’s biography of Jobs. Sorkin tells E! Online, “Sony has asked me to write the movie and it’s something I’m strongly considering. Right now I’m just in the thinking-about-it stages. It’s a really big movie and it’s going to be a great movie no matter who writes it.”
The screenwriter goes on to express his admiration for the computer genius. “He was a great entrepreneur, he was a great artist, a great thinker. He’s probably inspired (my 11-year-old daughter) Roxy more than he’s inspired me. She plays with all his toys.”
Aaron Sorkin has already proved that he can take reality and translate it into gripping cinema with The Social Network, we’re sure that he could do the same with an Aaron Sorkin Steve Jobs film.
