At an event this week Ashton Kutcher breaks down…but not for the reason you may think. The actor has been in the press a lot recently, for his supposedly rocky marriage to Demi Moore and the falling ratings of his show Two and a Half Men but neither of these are the reason why Kutcher got weepy earlier this week.
Kutcher and Moore were singled out to receive an honor the the GQ Gentleman’s Ball this week. The couple founded the Demi and Ashton Foundation, whose goal is to put an end to human sex trafficking. Moore was absent but Kutcher was on hand to accept the honor and speak about the cause. In his speech, Ashton Kutcher breaks down when talking about children being sold and taken advantage of.
Kutcher talked about choosing to educate himself on child sex trafficking and was brought to tears, talking about how it “destroyed” him to think of children out in the world being taken advantage of. Watching as Ashton Kutcher breaks down, it is clear how moved he is by this cause and how much he wants to do his part to putting an end to human trafficking.
It’s awful that what will get more coverage then the cause Kutcher is supporting is the fact that he was still wearing his wedding ring, further confusing the whole Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore “are they or aren’t they splitting up” situation. In the face of children being sold into sex slavery, is that really important?
