Barbra Streisand is reportedly set to return to the stage in her native Brooklyn for the first time in more than 50 years this autumn.
The veteran singer/actress was born in the borough, and while she’s played numerous shows in the Big Apple since shooting to fame, the 70 year old has never been back to Brooklyn to sing – until now…maybe.
Earlier this week, Ticketmaster listed Barbra Streisand as one of the upcoming artists set to fill the new Barclays Center arena, the home of Jay-Z‘s newly-renamed Brooklyn Nets basketball team.
The post has since been removed from the ticketing website, but rumors about Streisand’s live homecoming continued to swirl after Brooklyn Nets CEO Brett Yormark teased on Twitter, “Big announcement this week re the barclays center. I mean big. Very exciting times for brooklyn.”
