Lana Del Rey has collected an impressive following and made major waves in the msuic world without even releasing an album. Del Rey says that she can’t believe people are paying to hear her sing.
The singer, whose debut album Born To Die is due for release later this month, has been critically acclaimed in recent months for her songs “Video Games” and debut single “Born To Die”. Del Rey has played sold out shows across Europe, but she admits she’s finding it hard to adjust to her new-found notoriety.
Lana Del Rey tells V Magazine, “The one thing that has really changed is that I now have an audience. I turn up in Glasgow or Manchester or Amsterdam and there are good people waving at me from the crowd.
“That’s amazing. There are people outside the venue at soundcheck that want to chat and take a photo. Someone showed me their ticket stub and asked me to sign it. You know how much it costs to come and see a show? These people really wanted to see me.”
