Emma Watson may have left behind Hogwarts, but she hasn’t graduated from student life yet. in the upcoming film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, based on the beloved cult classic novel of the same name, the Harry Potter star shows that adolescence can be full of drama even without dark wizards to fight.
The first trailer for the film, which also stars We Need to Talk About Kevin‘s Ezra Miller, newcomer Logan Lerman and The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, premiered last night ahead of the MTV movie Awards. Watch the trailer for The Perks of Being a Wallflower below:
As a fan of the novel (it was one of my favorites as a teenager), I have to say that I am cautiously optimistic that this will be a faithful adaptation and a good film. All of the young actors in the movie are very talented and hopefully they’ll be able to do the story justice. This movie could mean that a whole new generation is introduced to The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which wonderfully illustrates the melancholy and joy of high school existence.
