At this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards, the late Whitney Houston was honored with this year’s Millennium Award. The award was introduced by Whoopi Goldberg, followed by tribute performances by John Legend and Jordin Sparks. Legend played piano and sang Houston’s hit “Greatest Love of All”, while Sparks (who co-starred with Whitney Houston in the upcoming Sparkle, the last film that Houston made before her death) sang Houston’s most famous song, “I Will Always Love You”.
Following the performances, Houston’s sister-in-law Patricia Houston and the singer’s daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown came onstage to accept the award on Whitney’s behalf.
