Rihanna is Baffled by Chris Brown Collaboration Backlash

Oh, Rihanna. Why are you staying stupid shit like this?

The “We Found Love” singer is voicing her confusion about the negative reactions surrounding her decision to collaborate musically with abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The pop star says that people should chill out because all they did was make music together.

Um, you’re missing the point, Rihanna.

She tells Esquire, “It never occurred to me how this was going to be a problem. I thought people were gonna be surprised that we finally did a record together, but I didn’t see how people could think it was a bad thing, you know? In my mind, it was just music… I could never see anything wrong with making music.”

Of course there’s nothing wrong with making music. But when you’re making music with your abusive ex-boyfriend and you are a huge pop-star and a role model for millions of impressionable young girls…you should STAY AWAY from said abusive ex.

Rihanna just digs the hole deeper, adding, “If I went back to him (as a girlfriend), then that’s a whole different discussion… If I ever do, then that’s something that y’all have to talk to me about when – if – that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is.”

OK, hold on to your hats. Saying “If I ever went back to him” and saying it like it’s an actual possibility? WHAT. THE FUCK??? No matter who you are, famous or not, if your boyfriend beats you you NEVER go back to him, work with him, see him, NOTHING. I understand that Rihanna is young and still figuring things out, but this is sending a HORRIBLE message to her young fans. I’m honestly disappointed in her.
