Trent Reznor and Karen O have released an amazing track from the upcoming film The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Reznor, who won an Oscar for his work on The Social Network‘s score, has also scored Dragon Tattoo. Today he announced the release of the film’s soundtrack and the collaboration between him and Karen O (of Yeah Yeah Yeahs) is available to download.
The track, a cover of Led Zeppelin‘s classic rock hit “Immigrant Song”, first premiered in the first Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer. The clip was only a minute long but now you can listen to the song in full. Check it out below:
Aside from the release of the Trent Reznor and Karen O song, Reznor also released a statement about the film’s soundtrack:
For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers. The result is a sprawling three-hour opus that I am happy to announce is available for pre-order right now for as low as $11.99. The full release will be available in one week – December 9th.
Both a regular and extended addition of the soundtrack will be available. ALSO, a 6 song sampler of the album is available RIGHT NOW…FREE…ONLINE!!!
We are so excited to finally listen to the Trent Reznor and Karen O track in full and to hear the soundtrack from the film. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo comes out in just a few weeks – get pumped!
